Transfers to Scott’s Battery
May 25, 1862
All of the men were members of Girardey’s Georgia Battery.
These men had enlisted in May 1861 in the First Confederate Infantry Regiment or the 36th Georgia Infantry Regiment
and were transferred by Captain Isadore P. Girardey to his battery in December 1861 or January 1862.
This battery was stationed at Pensacola, Florida until ordered on March 10 to Corinth, Mississippi.
In the Battle of Shiloh the battery lost one gun and its caissons and had the rest of its guns disabled.
General Leonidas Polk ordered the battery broken up.
