Recruited March, 1862
The following men were all recruited in Arkansas by Captain D. W. Harris for Bankhead’s Battery.
Some records refer to this group of men as Harris’ Battery but there was no such organization.
Those recruited on March 1 were all from Ouachita County in the southwestern part of the state.
Other places will be noted. They were all privates.
Several were landowners and all were farmers unless noted.
