4th Iowa Independent Battery Light Artillery

Organized at Davenport, Iowa November 23, 1863.

Garrison duty in the Dept. of the Northwest until February, 1864.

Ordered to New Orleans, La., and duty in the Defenses of that city
and at Thibodeaux, La. District of LaFourche until July, 1865.

The Battery was mustered out on July 14, 1865.

The Battery lost 5 Enlisted men by disease during it’s time of service.
